Dreaming of Hawaii! ~ Sneak Peek!

Hi friends! Josh and I went on a much needed vacation to Hawaii last week and are already back in Portland, recharged and happy! The trip was 8 days long and incredible to say the least. The weather was perfect: 84 degrees and 70% humid. Sunny every single, day, except for the day we rented kayaks and an underwater housing for our big Nikon D3... that day, albeit warm, it poured. Totally worth the day-trip anyway, though!

We made new friends on the island too... Krystal and Nate are from Portland and we ended up spending the entire time with them. We even photographed them on a sort of quick lifestyle shoot to commemorate their love on the island-paradise. Along with all of the beach/sun/pina coladas in Waikiki and surroundings, we also decided to hop on the local bus for an hour and a half trip through city streets, all the way to Pearl Harbor. That day was amazing as well. Touching and special. What a place and what history.

We have lots more to share with you as far as commentary, and certainly lots of photos as well! I wanted to share this little tid bit and a few key images from our trip here, to make way for a "part 2" blog post, which will include many more details. We have so much to share with you and are super excited about it :)

To all of our clients and fans: thank you for making it possible for us to take this necessary trip away from home! We were in constant communication with you via facebook so I know we didn't miss a thing while we were away ;) We are grateful for having had this opportunity and for having such patient and awesome couples in our lives. This recharging trip was necessary to allow us to clear our minds, get set and GO forward with this year's wedding photography! We are ready and can't wait to see you super soon! :)

An intimate World Forestry Center wedding in spring.

This must be a record blog post / sneak peek for us... Wendi & Danny's wedding was this morning! At the beautiful and historic World Forestry Center, near the Oregon Zoo, here in Portland. The day turned out to be on the warm side, with some fluffy clouds and a bit of sunshine as well. A perfect spring day for the Pacific Northwest with trees in bloom too!

We started at 9AM and ended around 3:30PM. In all of that time, we covered the entire wedding, from preparations to the goodbyes. What we were excited about the most, was how much time we had to spend, one on one, with Wendi & Danny! We walked to the Veteran's Memorial and then back down to the Peggy (the locomotive) and all around inside of the museum itself. This blog post is a collection of [mainly] Wendi & Danny artful/classy/fun photos ;)

One thing you might want to notice in detail is a photo of the two of them with their moms and dads... from WAY UP ABOVE! That, friends, is part of what MoscaPhoto is all about ;) We go the extra mile and LOVE to do it. Josh took a ride up the firefighters' harness seat, from the first floor of the museum, all the way to the ceiling. that's close to 100 feet up, harnessed in with feet dangling and camera gear in hand. It was SO worth it! Looking down on the smiling faces and taking the photo, was priceless :)

All of the little frames and papers and cake cutters and flowers, were hand made by Wendi and her family. She kept the process of coming up with wedding decor to a crafty self. The gifts that they gave their family members were framed images of them at the Ice Cave engagement session we photographed last January. Lots of personal touches and such a cozy small wedding too! The last photo is the WHOLE GROUP! 38 wonderful people who made Josh and I feel as if we were a part of the family.

A super quick Sneak Peek of Wendi & Danny's wedding day! We started early this morning, around 9am. The whole day went by quickly, yet, so much went on! We had a great time and can't wait to show you more, which will be something later today ;) And here is a link to their AWESOME engagement session at the Ice Caves at the base of Mt Adams in Washington. YAY :)

WHEW! We have so many fun and loving photos of Amy and Danielle, it't not even funny! ;) Starting off the photoshoot inside of a portland iconic place called Powells City of Books was Amy's idea and we JUMPED on it when she suggested it! The rows of books, the tall ceilings and the dim, warm light all around us, made for a great place to shoot. We had a blast in there! It was a Sunday, however, so we decided to quickly get out before disturbing the natural flow of regular visitors... then, we stepped outside into The Pearl. 

Walking around the neighborhood, stopping whenever we saw something that inspired us, sharing stories along the way... was truly priceless. Unfortunately, it started raining pretty heavily, so we decided to stop by the Pearl Bakery for a latte and a bloddy mary. Yep! It was awesome! We kept taking a few photos here and there, but mainly, we chit-chatted even more. 

These two are inspiring, fun, in love with each other and super excited about their wedding day, which we understood to be suuuuper DIY, since Amy is the queen of crafts! We are SO excited to see them unite in front of 175 people, this coming October at the West End Theater. We are equally as excited to meet up with them again for a part-2-engagement-session SOON, when the weather gets more dry and much warmer. We have a little surprise in store for them and can't wait to reveal it! For now, here are a handful of their In The City engagement shoot. <3
