Intimate winter wedding at Hotel deLuxe, Portland OR

Crista and James are an awesome couple! The are successful in life, completely in love with each other, surrounded by genuinely wonderful family members and friends... Photographing their wedding day this past January 5th 2013 at the fabulously Hollywood-style Hotel deLuxe, was a huge pleasure! [I want to give a big shout out to my friend Alan Weiner for helping me out at this wedding with his second shooting assistance!] This was our first wedding of our 2013 season and we can honestly say that we started off with a bang ;) It was a quaint, little wedding. Only the core people in Crista and James' life was in attendance. They actually travelled from Washington DC to get married here in Portland! It was truly a cozy and fun day, that I'll remember for ever. Thank you Crista & James!

Luxe Style Wedding Design "Retro Decadence" wedding inspiration at Hotel deLuxe - A preview.

'Tis the season (the beginning of it, anyway) for professionals in the wedding industry to come up with and organize and collaborate on inspiration shoots. These sessions are planned out to the T and are a huge deal! Many wedding vendors get together to make it happen, all for the benefit of future brides who might be looking for ideas for their own wedding.

This past Friday September 16th, an amazing group of said vendors got together to make the first of several inspiration shoots come alive. Take a look at the list of amazing talented people who made this one happen. Each one of them worked hard to make it happen flawlessly while I (photo) and Karyn (video) worked hard at capturing the style and feel of the vignettes, for all to see and enjoy.

The full post of the entire shoot will be shared with the world soon. For now, I wanted to share just a handful of images to give you a taste of what is to come. What a great shoot it was!

This past weekend was set aside for boudoirs. It was super fun! The transformation that the ladies go through from the moment they come to the hotel to when they get make up and hair done professionally, is always a sight to see. Here is a super quick sneak peek of the beautiful Erica :)

Portland Boudoir Event with Hush Sessions! One more week to sign up :)

Hi everyone! See the flier here for detailed information about this fun, intimate, sexy event. HushSessions and MoscaPhoto are uniting for two days next weekend (July 16th and 17th 2011) for a back to back, 8-person, boudoir event. 8 lucky ladies will come to our location, get pampered, get photographed and a few days later... see their beautiful selves in photos! I (Alice) will be your photographer and Misty (HushSessions) will be your art director and stylist. Hair and makeup are available on site should you choose the extra service. It will be fun! SSHHH... a little secret is about to be revealed ;)

I wanted to share a little Sneak Peek of a project that will, for certain, take Portland by storm. The talented and creative Misty Damico of Luxe Event Productions has asked us to collaborate on this project. I cannot reveal too much until the web site is up and more information and content becomes available... but know that it has everything to do with an Ultimate Bachelorette Party Night! A group of ladies will be showered with VIP treatments, which include mini-boudoir sessions... and oh so much more! Amber & Ben FINALLY tie the knot!!!

This wedding was SUPER SPECIAL to us simply because we are BFFs with them... and they are amazing people who have been in our lives for years and will be for ever. I'm tearing up writing this blog, actually... ;)

Josh, who always shoots weddings with me, was actually IN this wedding, as one of Ben's groomsmen. It was nice seeing him be able to fulfill his role as a part of the bridal party, and as one of Ben's great friends. And I was honored to have had the opportunity to see my friends get married after all of the planning!

Friend and fellow photographer Wayne Toshikazu second shot this wedding for me as well (he also helped me on a wedding the day before!). Thank you Wayne for capturing the guys getting ready and helping me out with the ceremony! It was awesome and reassuring having you help out!

Amber and Ben got engaged last year (2009) at the top of the Empire State Building in NY, when they went there for a week on vacation. We knew he was going to propose to her and it was super difficult to not show the excitement to Amber, since she had NO idea!

They, of course, hired us on the spot to be a part of their wedding day and to capture it as professional photographers AND as friends of their and everyone else in the wedding and attending. It was the most personal and close-to-the-heart wedding to date, for us. Josh and I both immediately started photographing their planning and all of their wedding-related events.

And now... THE WEDDING! 

Everyone started getting ready in a room at Hotel Deluxe, in downtown Portland. I got there at 10am to shoot, while Josh was already hanging with the boys about to get ready himself. We did a first look around 2pm in the gorgeous lobby of the hotel. Then we all hopped on a party bus and headed to the beautiful Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens. We did group portraits and then relaxed till the ceremony. After the ceremony, we gave enough time for everyone to gather at the entrance of the gardens, then made our way to them for Amber & Ben's fun walk out through everyone waving little congratulations flags. The three of us hopped in a classy Rolls Royce and headed to Hotel Deluxe for the posh and romantic and beautifully decorated reception dinner and party.

This is PART 1 of the two part Sneak Peek of Amber & Ben's wedding day! I photographed for 12 hours straight, so there are PLENTY more photos to show from the second half of the night :)
