Portland's Forest Park Engagement Session

Emmery and Tim are tying the knot! ;) They are to marry this coming July 7th 2012 here in Portland and we couldn't be more excited about it... We even photographed them the day they became engaged, since we accidentally ran into them at Timberline Lodge last September, while we were shooting a wedding! Love it ;)

This here is a sneak peek of their fabulous, fun, adventurous engagement session from this past Sunday June 3rd. We had postposed their session several times before because they were either suddenly unavailable due to work, or the weather just wouldn't cooperate! This past Sunday was glorious, instead. No rain and even a bit of sunlight shining through the trees. It was perfect.

Emmery hikes almost one mile up the Forest Park trail, in the tall wooden wedges you see in the images below. She is a trooper who never ceases to amaze me when it comes to how far she will go to get amazing images (she is a professional model after all) ;) Once we reached our destination, one mile up the trail, she changed into a more casual jeans and shirt combo and had a blast using the homesite ruin we found. Then... we walked a mile back to the parking lot. WHEW! Just a great day!

{Engagement} Washington Park Rose Garden roses and light rain engagement session!

Patricia and Tim are sweethearts!

They will not be getting married here in Portland, but they did get engaged here, and at the Rose Garden to boot!

What better place to take their engagement photos but in the very place where their wedding story officially began? They'll have so many colorful and memorable images to take back with them to their family and friends in the Midwest!

The day was lovely! A light rain, umbrellas, blooming roses and some autumn leaves too...

Yay for Oregon fall weather! :)

{Wedding!} Katie & Mark wed at the Edgefield in Portland.

I love photographing family members of old couples of ours!

Katie is the little sister of one of our favorite grooms (Matthew) from our 2009 season. Matthew and Kristina were awesome! They and Josh rode on a roller coaster right after their wedding... AWESOME!

Katie and Mark were at that wedding and we totally bonded! They eventually became engaged and hired us to be their photographers! Its always SO fun seeing a group of people as fun as this group was, a year later, for another family wedding! We're honored to be the ones to capture one family's celebrations! (LOVE what we do! :)

I have to give a huge shout-out to my friend and fellow photographer Wayne Toshikazu for being available and willing to accompany me as my second shooter! YOU ROCK! :)

I know, I know... why do I care to show images from a June 28th 2008 wedding, you ask?


Because I was just looking through our archives and remembered how much I LOVE this venue! I can't wait for the next opportunity to shoot there... for now, I'll satisfy my fantasy with looking at these images :-)
