{Engagement!} Andrea & Omar, Eastbank Esplanade & Downtown Portland.

Loved working with them!
Andrea and Omar are funny, in love, fun to talk to and be around... we totally bonded on our 2 and a half hour trek around Portland's prime locations!

We were scheduled to photograph their engagement session at the Eastbank Esplanade and then Downtown Portland, around noon. The day turned out to be rainy and gloomy, we almost had to cancel and re-schedule! Good thing we simply postponed it to 6pm! The sky cleared up, the sun began to shine AND we met at the perfect time of day... at the end of our Portland walkabout, the silhouette of the city skyline was GORGEOUS all lit up with lights and up against the dark blue of the beginning of night. Perfect! :)

They are one of our 2011 couples and we can't wait for their wedding day to come!

Karen and James (and Red-Dog) were awesome to hang out with and work with!

They JUST moved to Oregon (where Karen grew up) from NYC via cross country road trip, hauling all of their belongings and their best friend Rex and a travelling gnome. :)

Local Pacific Northwesterners may have noticed how LONG our winter was this year... all the way to June, we were in the rain! Well... as soon as Karen & James got here, sunshine! So we say THANK YOU for bringing us the sun! :)

Speaking of sun... we picked the perfect day to be at Trillium Lake! They were looking for a great view of Mt Hood, in the woods... I think we nailed the location! The sun was shining, the temperature was just right, and the two of them were super fun to hike with and chit chat with too. Karen's dad James came along for the hike as well, so we got to meet him and totally bonded, even way before their wedding! We love what we do... so many great new people in our lives!

Here is a preview of our excursion on the 2 mile hike around Trillium Lake. Including Josh being made fun of by the bride... LOL!!! :) LOVE!

{Engagement!} Amber & Ben's (Downtown Portland) 3rd and final Engagement Shoot!

TAAA DAAAAA! :)

Amber & Ben, once again, are being blogged!

I say "once again" because this is the third time Josh and I had the pleasure of photographing them!

Here is a brief summary of every "postable" shoot we've done! 

(I said postable since there is one set of images (from Amber's dress fitting) which Ben cannot see!)

• We met up for their "first shoot" on a camping trip in the woods near Mt Adams, sometime in July 2009. I put "first shoot" in quotes because it was more of an impromptu shoot, not planned, but super fun nonetheless! After all, camping in the woods is what Amber and Ben are all about, and we love to join them when we have time! Giant bonfire, a beautiful stream and peaceful woods! See those photos here :)

• The first "official" engagement shoot, was last September 2009. The mood of it was autumnal, corn fields and vineyards. We visited David Hill Winery in September of 2009 and then stopped at a fun-looking field of mature corn, right as the sun was beginning to set. It was a gorgeous day! See those photos here :)

• The second "official" engagement shoot, was this past January 2010. We joined them over an exceptionally sunny weekend, at Lincoln City and then Pacific Beach, on the Oregon coast. In this shoot, we were finally able to include their labradoodle Luke! So fun running around the beach at sun set and then again the next day, overlooking our gorgeous coastline! See these photos here :)

Now that we are all caught up with Amber & Ben's year-long photographic adventures... here are a handful of their LATEST and last engagement shoot! I say last simply because their wedding is right around the corner! WOW!

This latest shoot was intended to have a very urban and city-life feel to it. I think we hit the nail right in the head with it! :) We met up this past July 8th 2010 and drove to multiple downtown Portland locations. It was awesome! We can't wait for their wedding day!

It was a pleasure finally meeting them in person, since they are based in California and are in the process of relocating here to Portland. The day they will finally call Portland home is close and we're super excited for them!


Yesterday, Sunday July 11th, Josh and I had the pleasure of meeting them for the first time. Not only Lindsay and Tim, but Trinity too! She is 6 years old and a total sweetheart! Apparently, she has a crush on Josh now... Lindsay told me to watch out! HAHA!! :) Love it! :)

We met up at Rooster Rock State Park, along the Columbia River. Had some fun in the trees and then on the river, but eventually we were chased away from swarms of crazy mosquitoes! We were practically eaten alive! We did, however, get to capture some gorgeous light... then we headed to the Historic Columbia River Highway to look for waterfalls!

Our first stop was Wahkeena Falls and then the majestic Multnomah Falls. Beautiful places with the perfect temperature and a super fun family, complete with a GIANT ice cream for Trinity at the end of a hard shooting day! :)
