Timberline Lodge & Trillium Lake engagement session.
Having a few days off from wedding shooting and editing has helped to get us refreshed and ready for the second half our our wedding season! We're right back at work and ready to show some new photo-goodness. This is a super quick sneak peek of Kate & Andrew's engagement session at Timberline Lodge and then at Trillium Lake. Both at the base of Mt Hood and right around sunset... gorgeous light and a super fun couple too! Love it :) Their wedding will be next September 2012 at the beautiful Mt Hood Organic Farms, south of Hood River. We can't wait!!

{Engagement!} Karen & James (and Rex-Dog too!) at the base of Mt Hood!

Karen and James (and Red-Dog) were awesome to hang out with and work with!
They JUST moved to Oregon (where Karen grew up) from NYC via cross country road trip, hauling all of their belongings and their best friend Rex and a travelling gnome. :)
Local Pacific Northwesterners may have noticed how LONG our winter was this year... all the way to June, we were in the rain! Well... as soon as Karen & James got here, sunshine! So we say THANK YOU for bringing us the sun! :)
Speaking of sun... we picked the perfect day to be at Trillium Lake! They were looking for a great view of Mt Hood, in the woods... I think we nailed the location! The sun was shining, the temperature was just right, and the two of them were super fun to hike with and chit chat with too. Karen's dad James came along for the hike as well, so we got to meet him and totally bonded, even way before their wedding! We love what we do... so many great new people in our lives!
Here is a preview of our excursion on the 2 mile hike around Trillium Lake. Including Josh being made fun of by the bride... LOL!!! :) LOVE!

{Engagement Session!} Jen & Iyad frolic in the snow at Mt. Hood's Timberline Lodge.

An awesome day for Josh and I, spent with yet another awesome couple!
Jen and Iyad were supposed to meet up with us the week before, for an engagement session on the mountain.The weather had not been cooperating enough for us to risk getting stuck in the snow... I know! Crazy snow showers in end of May, beginning of June!
We rescheduled the shoot for yesterday, Monday, and it turned out to be just as they predicted: a warmish, bright, rain/snow free day!
We met up at the entrance of Timberline Lodge, above the tree line, atop Mt Hood. We started off exploring the cozy and warm interior of the lodge and then made our way outside, to the snow, where all of the snowboarders were. It was so fun being surrounded by deep snow and blue skies and cracks in the clouds, long and clear enough to reveal the gorgeous mountain...
After frolicking in the snow and the trees a bit, we headed down the mountain to Trillium Lake. The roads were clear and, still, the temperatures were just right! Not much of a reflection of Mt Hood on the surface of the water as I had hoped, but the woods around the lake were a beautiful setting for photos anyway!
