Karen and James (and Red-Dog) were awesome to hang out with and work with!

They JUST moved to Oregon (where Karen grew up) from NYC via cross country road trip, hauling all of their belongings and their best friend Rex and a travelling gnome. :)

Local Pacific Northwesterners may have noticed how LONG our winter was this year... all the way to June, we were in the rain! Well... as soon as Karen & James got here, sunshine! So we say THANK YOU for bringing us the sun! :)

Speaking of sun... we picked the perfect day to be at Trillium Lake! They were looking for a great view of Mt Hood, in the woods... I think we nailed the location! The sun was shining, the temperature was just right, and the two of them were super fun to hike with and chit chat with too. Karen's dad James came along for the hike as well, so we got to meet him and totally bonded, even way before their wedding! We love what we do... so many great new people in our lives!

Here is a preview of our excursion on the 2 mile hike around Trillium Lake. Including Josh being made fun of by the bride... LOL!!! :) LOVE!

What a gorgeous day!
It started off with ominous clouds, threatening rain. 
It never did rain, though; not only that, the sunshine came and glorious Mt Hood showed itself in all its glory!


You may remember Rebecca & David from an earlier blog post showing off their engagement photos from Hoyt Arboretum, right here in Portland. That day, they started off shy and not sure about how to be in front of the camera. The shoot evolved into the two of them hamming it up!

Thanks to their experience with us and cameras during their engagement session, their wedding photography was smooth and comfortable and they even told us they were having fun being the center of attention!

We are so happy to have been chosen to be a part of their wedding day. Not only did we get the opportunity to return to one of our favorite wedding sites of all time (Mt Hood Organic Farms, run by the always lovely Brady), we also got the chance to witness two love birds uniting in marriage, witnessed by their fun and kind group of family members and friends.

With our super busy 2010 wedding season fast approaching, Josh and I wanted to be sure to remind all of you summer 2009 couples, how much you meant to us back then, and how wonderful it is to still keep in touch today. 

Every year that goes by, we meet new wonderful couples. Every year, we are honored to have been chosen to see their passage from one state of being to a new one: being a husband and wife. Our profession allows us to immortalize this important life transition and as individuals, we get the opportunity to witness the public celebration of love that is a wedding. 

There is nothing in this world we would rather be doing, other than this very thing. 

To all of our gorgeous couples of 2009, thank you for letting us be a part of your wedding day and thank you to those of you who have allowed us to consistently grow to know you as friends, even after all this time. We love to keep in touch with you on a personal level, as we do on facebook, and by grabbing dinner or watching a live show every once and a while... you know who you are ;)

You are what keeps us going; what keeps us inspired; what keeps us wanting to come back for more, year after year; and the reason why we have been in business and ecstatic about it, for over 6 years! 

So, again, thank you for making our 2009 season yet another successful and inspiring one. I have put together a little collage of all of our 2009 couples here... looking through all of the photos to search for the ones here, put a nostalgic tear in my eye :)

{Engagement!} Rebecca & David - Hoyt Arboretum & Washington Park.

Rebecca and David are SO sweet!


They are to be married at Mt Hood Organic Farms in Mt Hood, Oregon, on June 19th 2010. We can't wait! (Here is a {vendor spotlight} blog post we wrote up a few weeks ago of the farms... so beautiful!).


They were adamant about blooming trees in a park somewhere in Portland... after phone calls and web surfing and consulting with my photographer friends... we ended up meeting at Hoyt Arboretum and then ending the session at the main staircase entrance of Washington Park.


Boy did we find blooms! The Magnolia Trail was beautiful and the perfume in the air was so fresh!
