What a gorgeous day!
It started off with ominous clouds, threatening rain. 
It never did rain, though; not only that, the sunshine came and glorious Mt Hood showed itself in all its glory!


You may remember Rebecca & David from an earlier blog post showing off their engagement photos from Hoyt Arboretum, right here in Portland. That day, they started off shy and not sure about how to be in front of the camera. The shoot evolved into the two of them hamming it up!

Thanks to their experience with us and cameras during their engagement session, their wedding photography was smooth and comfortable and they even told us they were having fun being the center of attention!

We are so happy to have been chosen to be a part of their wedding day. Not only did we get the opportunity to return to one of our favorite wedding sites of all time (Mt Hood Organic Farms, run by the always lovely Brady), we also got the chance to witness two love birds uniting in marriage, witnessed by their fun and kind group of family members and friends.

Today is June 15th 2010.

In a week is the Summer Solstice.

This means that the days will begin to grow shorter and shorter, 'till finally winter comes along again.

Who with me thinks that this 2010 year might be the first year in history in which Portland will eventually  have close to 365 days of almost non-stop winter rains? I sure am starting to believe (and accept?) it. The only times the rains break and the sun is returned in its rightful place at the top of the sky, is during our wedding shoots, on the weekends. WHICH IS AWESOME!! But it would sure be nice to finally snap into summer already... sheesh!

I remember this day (below). It was 98 degrees at Crater Lake (OR). Granted, it was in August, of last year... still, hopefully our wishful thinking in combination with the posting of these images, will change the whole energy field in the universe...

juuuuuust enough to BRING SUMMER BACK! ;)

At last!
Our first wedding of the 2010 summer season came, went AND was a huge success!


Andra & Andrew hold a special place in our hearts. They are genuine, loving, intelligent and fun people, with a super friendly and welcoming family and group of friends. Josh and I felt completely at ease with everyone and feel lucky to have had them come into our lives.


Saturday June 12th, 2010:
We met up with them at Eliot Hall, on the beautiful campus of Reed College. The architecture and landscaping of that college is amazing! Non only that, the sun was shining and it was actually hot! A gorgeous day for a wedding.


Portraits, ceremony, fun with the two of them and then... we met back up in NW Portland. The plan was to hop on the Portland Streetcar for a short ride from NW Portland to the Pearl District... we did it! People were stopping to congratulate Andra & Andrew left and right... all the way to the Pearls, and then on our short walk to Giorgio's Restaurant too. They were the center of the attention everywhere they were, imagine the huge smiles on their faces at this point! hehe ;)


Giorgio's Restaurant is beautiful and the food is absolutely delicious. The space was perfect for the crazy (and i mean CRAZY!) dancing that was happening during the night. This is one energetic and FUN group of people! We have so many photos of them having the time of their lives. 


Finally, it came time for our bride and groom to say their goodbyes and leave. What better way to wave goodbye to everyone than from a Portland Pedicab? It was awesome! They were picked up and biked away as everyone yelled their congratulations and cheers to them... so genuinely awesome!

Thank you, you two, for having Josh and I be a part of your wedding day. 
Meeting your family and friends was an honor and we can't wait to show you all of the photos!

Amelia & Doug are great!

We met for the first time yesterday, during the shoot, even though we'd been communicating for many months, since they booked us for their wedding long ago.

We ended up hitting it off right away! Amelia and I just couldn't stop talking about our common field of studies and interest: anthropology... The boys were hilarious! They just listened as we were blah-blah-blah-ing away! HAHA! Love it! ;)

Despite the great conversations we had (ie: the long pauses we had from actually shooting), the four of us were able to explore the gorgeous Mt Tabor Park and take advantage of the quickly setting, bright orange sun. That's right! SUN! It was a beautiful day, great temperature, some clouds in the blue sky, enough to give it the depth we long for as photographers... just plain perfect!

We are excited for their wedding!!
