Real Bridal Portraits. Country-Chic shoot on Sauvie Island.

This afternoon was a nice, mild, evenly lit day. Perfect for our Real Bridal Portrait Photoshoot with Samantha! She is a Real Bride, who will be married later on in June. The wedding dress she chose to wear on her wedding day, is a different style from the one wore during the shoot today. She wanted the look and feel of her Bridal Portraits to be more on the Country-Chic side of things. And Country-Chic it was! ;)

We love it when our energy and efforts are praised! We need to share two of the endorsements (as seen on our Wedding Wire page!) given to us by two people who we've worked with very closely, throughout the years. They are friends and fellow wedding vendors who help make the planning and coordinating of a wedding day, flawless and perfect!

Mandi of Champagne NW and Misty of Luxe Productions NW! Mandi worked with us on two weddings  this past 2010 season (Lacey & Jonathan and Amber & Ben Part 1 & Part 2), while Misty has been the pillar for other amazing events around town that she organizes and puts together oh so successfully! (Indulge Culinary Event Food Photos & Event Photos and Jupiter Hotel (Jupiter Lily) Shoot, to name a few). {Event Photography!} Indulge at the Jupiter ... 4 local portland restaurants' favorite dishes on camera

This will be one EPIC event!


Our great friends of Luxe Event Productions (Misty!) and Scene Marketing (Shannon!) joined forces to create one amazing culinary get-together at the iconic Jupiter Hotel, This coming September 23rd 2010.

Put this date and this event in your calendar! You don't want to miss our on the delicious food and wines and spirits and deserts that will be available to anyone who attends.

Josh and I, of MoscaPhoto, were graciously asked to be the official photographers for the event and we could not be any happier and excited to have been chosen!

The first assignment we had was to drive around the East Side (of Portland) from one locally owned and inspired restaurant to the other. 4 in total. All delicious and with their own spark and original creations. The chefs were happy to open their doors to us and show off some of their favorite dishes. We had the opportunity to photograph them and then, of course... sample them! Not a bad day at all for Luxe and Mosca! ;)

Our photos will be printed large and displayed as promotional material and as wall art, at the festival. Come on over to it so sample the eats and to see our photographs, and to say hi! :)

{Photo Assignment!} Tiltshift Photography - Portland in Miniature.

Here's a FUN little assignment 7 local photographers are executing this week: Tiltshift Photography!

The 7 of us are past of Luxe Event Production's LuxeNW7, a recently formed group of select photographers who are the preferred ones of Luxe's event coordination company. Some of us a new to business, while others (like Josh and I) are veterans. The combination of the 7 of us will, with no doubt, bring even more inspiration and learning experiences for all!

Tiltshift photography is fun and entertaining. Lenses made for this effect exist, though the same effect can be achieved with meticulous and careful photoshop techniques, as well. The trick is to shoot for the desired result, though, so a perfect image is necessary, in order to get tiltshift's miniaturizing effect. Here are some examples of this technique... photos I took this past Friday April 9th 2010, off of the St. John's Bridge in North Portland.

Hello world!

We wanted to share information and photographs of one of our favorite wedding venues in the Pacific NW! Keep in mind, we are wedding photographers, not planners! We leave that to the professionals, whom we love! We are, however, passionate about everything wedding related, including sharing with the world, our favorite and preferred venues and vendors! This is all based on our own experiences as wedding photographers. Feel free to contact me with questions!

Onto the Vendor Spotlight! :-)

Mt Hood Organic Farms.

Oh my! What can we say about this place? Well, its pure nature! Brady and her husband own and live on site and have one of the greenest thumbs anywhere in the world! The gardens are lush and colorful, paths are well defined and grassy, the cottages are bright and clean, the view of Mt Hood is majestic, to say the least.

We've had the pleasure of photographing weddings there in the past, and have always walked away with amazing imagery. There is no "bad angle" anywhere on site! Plenty of shade trees, lots of sunshine, beautifully symmetric orchards and a very photogenic large white tent under which guests are seated. Our next wedding event there will  be this coming June 2010, and we can't wait!

I contacted Brady yesterday, to say hi and to ask her if she could write a little something about her venue. She graciously responded with the following:

"My husband and I have been living on and organically farming this exquisite piece of land for 28 years. I always thought it would be a wonderful spot for retreats. Eight years ago, a friend with a wedding venue told me I had to host weddings at our farm, so I thought I'd see if I liked the idea. It turned out to be something I love and am as passionate about as farming and gardening, and my weddings have become my retreats.

Our place is secluded, although just off of Highway 35 in the gorgeous Upper Hood River Valley, and feels like a destination place without being commercial—no traffic, power lines, or neighborhoods. The views and natural setting here are unique and spectacular, and the grounds and gardens are renowned for their beauty. People have the opportunity to roam around on our 200-acre, park-like property, and love exploring the trails, ponds and 3-acre lake with full views of Mt Hood, Mt Adams, and the top of Mt Rainier.

Our amazing caterer is Ginger Power (www.gingerpower.com) of Orchard House Catering in Hood River. She is an experienced chef, trained in Napa Valley, who specializes in fresh, seasonal, local, organic elegant food served family style. Her beautiful food and extraordinary staff make for a memorable reception in an extraordinary setting."

I have included some select photographs of one of our favorite weddings at Mt. Hood Organic Farms below. Kristen & Drake married there back in August 2nd 2008. Their photos are still some of our favorites. Just look at the setting! Look at the joy in everyone's faces! How can anyone not smile at a cozy loved one's wedding, especially when located in such a fable-like nature park?
