HAPPY NEW YEAR! Here's our little recap for 2010. THANK YOU for making each year awesome! :)

What can I say about 2010? Only that is went by quickly and it was a blast. Well, there is much more that can be said about these past 365 days, but I'm not here to spill all of our beans. The intent of this post is to show you how inspiring each and every year is, and how important for our personal and business growth each year is.

: GREAT NEW FRIENDS :

Each one of our weddings of the 2010 season brought a new rush of people that became a part of the story of our life. Whenever we meet a new couple and are chosen to immortalize the importance of their wedding day, we gain a new family. We like to think of ourselves as always growing, not only as professional photographers, but as a family too. Each year, we gain new people in our lives who will have influenced us in one way or another; people who will help shape our future. With the relatively new advent of the popularity and openness of Facebook, we are able to keep in contact with our couples and their friends, which aids in the progress of a continued, healthy, special, meaningful friendship. Thank you to all who have made our year so flawless and so fun!

: NEW TOYS TO "PLAY" WITH :

When one is an artist by profession [an artist of an artform that requires expensive and always up to date equipment] the "toys" of choice ARE that equipment. For professional photographers it's expensive but essential. When one of us has a birthday, or an anniversary, or whenever a perfect gift-giving occasion comes along, our moneys go straight to bettering our arsenal. This arsenal is turned around and used for you! You who have honored us with the privilege of documenting your wedding day, or your family. You, ultimately, are the ones who will benefit from all of these new toys that we [gladly] get ;) Without the appropriate and up to date cameras and lenses and accessories [and without knowing how to use them effortlessly], we couldn't do what we do. So, here's to our [new & old] collection of photo-toys!

Nikon D3
Nikon D700
105 2.8
85 1.4
24-70 2.8
50 1.4
10.5 2.8
Beauty Dish
Bogen Manfrotto Carbon Fiber tripod + head
and accessories that I won't list 'cause I don't want to bore you LOL :)

: EVEN MORE LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER :

Here is the "cheesy" bit :) Even if Josh and I can't possibly think that we can be even more in love and obsessed with one another, we are! Every day that goes by, we can't believe how perfect we are for one another, how flawlessly we work together and how amazing we feel our life is. As I write this, I smile and wonder what the new year will  have in store for us. What I DO know is that Josh and I will glow as a couple and will welcome life, as it comes. Challenges will be surpassed, inspirations will be taken advantage of, creativity will be flowing, new friends will be made, new art will be created... all as we grown old together. Life is grand and love completes it! Here is to LOVE and DEVOTION, for us and for all of you! {Thank you again Maggie & Brian for taking the time to photograph Josh and I a few weeks ago. What an awesome memory!}

: MOST OF ALL... HERE'S TO YOU! :

We want to genuinely and from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU brides and grooms of the past for having chosen US to be YOUR wedding photographers! And we welcome all of our newest members of the MoscaPhoto family [our future couples] as well! We could not possibly have the amazingly creative and inspiring life we have, without your continued support and positive energy. LOVE YOU ALL!

HAPPY NEW YEAR from us
of MOSCAPHOTO to YOU!

New MoscaPhoto Product for our 2011 Season! YAY!

These are awesome! We are so happy to have them at our fingertips for our clients AND to be able to finally offer them easily, for all to enjoy! Our fabulous online lab, Pictage, has made them available and they are ready to be purchased through each of our client galleries. Each type of image backing has its own price, details of which are easy to see when orders are placed online; it all depends on what kind and what size, obviously :)

One thing I'd like to mention is that the backing called Standout (both the 3/4 inch and the 1 1/2 inch options) is the only one made ready to hang on your walls. It comes with hangers! The other backings (Styrene, Matboard, Masonite and Foamboard) are used to stiffen up the photo print, in order to be framed more properly and to assure a perfect, straight, archival fit. All options are perfect for those very special print orders made to be gifts or made to be wall art.

YAY!

A super cute Save-The-Date idea!

We thought this was one of the cutest things ever!

I am always looking for inspiration all around the web, and today, I ran into an idea that I was hoping to be able to recreate.

All I needed was an image that was perfect to use... I found it!

Its one from an awesome engagement session we shot at the top of a mountain in Washington state, about two hours north of Portland, OR.

Sara and Dane's photo was ideal for this little project!

I love creativity :)

Around downtown Portland on Xmas 2010.

Love this city.

Josh and I decided to walk around what we expected to be a deserted city, on this 2010 Christmas Day. There were indeed some people with our same idea, but for the most part, plenty of parking and hardly anyone around. It wasn't raining either, so we were able to take some snapshots of the holiday decor and some of the details of the gorgeous buildings.

Oh! And we also found a "totally Portland" Christmas related wall art. I think you'll know which one it is out of this collection, once you see it! LOLz :)

Happy Holidays!

{Family Portraits} Mom + 2 Sisters = Love!

This was so fun, and what an honor!

Kimberly & Andy are a sweet and fun couple who'se wedding we photographed back in the summer of 2009. It was at Hoyt Arboretum and then at The World Forestry Center. You can see a selection of their photos from back then, here (the sneak peek) and here (lots more images!).

We hadn't seen Kimberly since her wedding day, partly because she and Andy live in the Midwest. The good news is that they have finally decided to move back to Portland, where her mom and the rest of the family live. One of the first things she wanted to do with her mom, is have a fun lifestyle portrait shoot along with her sister. How sweet! <3

Being a life-time family photographer for our brides is what we long to be. Every time we photograph a wedding, we gain a family and a new group of friends. Yesterday, was one such new-friends/family reunion for us.

We met up at Cathedral Park, in North Portland (right under the gorgeous St John's Bridge) and spent a little over an hour walking around the grounds and shooting away. Here are a handful of the images!

Hugs and Peace to all!
Happy Holidays!

Sneak Peek! Honey-Photo photographed by MoscaPhoto! :)

Talk about pressure!

Maggie and Brian (of Honeysuckle Photography) are local Portland photographers, just as Josh and I are.
I've known Maggie for many years... but this was the first time we had ever photographed one another! (Here is the link to the photos they took of us!) We both have NO idea why it took this long to think of it! :) I have always respected her and her photography and am so honored to have had this opportunity!

The shoot had been rescheduled a few times due to the weather... then, this past Monday, we decided that rain or shine, it would happen! Well, it turned out to be "shine" even if it was cold. We braved it and loved every minute of it!

Maggie's and my makeup was done by our talented and super fun friend Jennifer Rand Walker, of Face, Body Beauty. The beautiful jewelry was graciously provided by our friend and jeweler Shan Maloy of Maloy's Jewelry.

Both Face, Body, Beauty and Maloy's Jewelry are local Portland businesses and absolutely essential for photography sessions such as this one AND for weddings! We can't wait to work with them again in the near future! Be sure to click on the links to see their web sites!

LOVE! <3
