{Vendor Spotlight!} Mt Hood Organic Farms near Hood River, OR.

Hello world!

We wanted to share information and photographs of one of our favorite wedding venues in the Pacific NW! Keep in mind, we are wedding photographers, not planners! We leave that to the professionals, whom we love! We are, however, passionate about everything wedding related, including sharing with the world, our favorite and preferred venues and vendors! This is all based on our own experiences as wedding photographers. Feel free to contact me with questions!

Onto the Vendor Spotlight! :-)

Mt Hood Organic Farms.

Oh my! What can we say about this place? Well, its pure nature! Brady and her husband own and live on site and have one of the greenest thumbs anywhere in the world! The gardens are lush and colorful, paths are well defined and grassy, the cottages are bright and clean, the view of Mt Hood is majestic, to say the least.

We've had the pleasure of photographing weddings there in the past, and have always walked away with amazing imagery. There is no "bad angle" anywhere on site! Plenty of shade trees, lots of sunshine, beautifully symmetric orchards and a very photogenic large white tent under which guests are seated. Our next wedding event there will  be this coming June 2010, and we can't wait!

I contacted Brady yesterday, to say hi and to ask her if she could write a little something about her venue. She graciously responded with the following:

"My husband and I have been living on and organically farming this exquisite piece of land for 28 years. I always thought it would be a wonderful spot for retreats. Eight years ago, a friend with a wedding venue told me I had to host weddings at our farm, so I thought I'd see if I liked the idea. It turned out to be something I love and am as passionate about as farming and gardening, and my weddings have become my retreats.
Our place is secluded, although just off of Highway 35 in the gorgeous Upper Hood River Valley, and feels like a destination place without being commercial—no traffic, power lines, or neighborhoods. The views and natural setting here are unique and spectacular, and the grounds and gardens are renowned for their beauty. People have the opportunity to roam around on our 200-acre, park-like property, and love exploring the trails, ponds and 3-acre lake with full views of Mt Hood, Mt Adams, and the top of Mt Rainier.
Our amazing caterer is Ginger Power (www.gingerpower.com) of Orchard House Catering in Hood River. She is an experienced chef, trained in Napa Valley, who specializes in fresh, seasonal, local, organic elegant food served family style. Her beautiful food and extraordinary staff make for a memorable reception in an extraordinary setting."

I have included some select photographs of one of our favorite weddings at Mt. Hood Organic Farms below. Kristen & Drake married there back in August 2nd 2008. Their photos are still some of our favorites. Just look at the setting! Look at the joy in everyone's faces! How can anyone not smile at a cozy loved one's wedding, especially when located in such a fable-like nature park?

Thank you for reading and be sure to contact me or Brady for any more information!

Happy planning! :-)

{Engagement Session!} Charlotte & Adam, Downtown Portland.

*UPDATE*
Here is a nice slide show of all of our photos from Charlotte & Adam's Engagement Session! What a fun shoot this was!

What a great day today was!

Our awesome September 4th 2009 bride Trish, gifted her best friend Charlotte an Engagement Session with us!

Charlotte had no idea what Trish and we were planning... then, today, it happened!

We met with Charlotte and Adam downtown Portland, and despite the constant rain, they braved the session with us and if was FUN!

Thanks for being so open to letting us take you around town and for being so positive and jolly, even in the rain!

Love conquers all :-)

Oh Boy! {Best of Mosca Photo's 2009 Wedding Photographs} are here!

Summer 2009 (and Fall 2009 also) was a very busy season for Josh and I.

Despite the economy and all of the national and personal issues so many of us seem to have found ourselves stuck in this past year, there was still plenty of room and time for celebration and happiness and family and love.

We met incredible people and witnessed amazing milestones in people's lives.

Being a part of a couple's wedding day is an honor. We are constantly entrusted with a huge responsibility. Lots of pressure around us throughout a shoot of this importance. At the same time, everyone we've crossed paths with, is genuinely glad to have had us be there for them, making our whole experience, one amazing adventure. We get amazing feedback during the wedding and even now, months after the fact!

We get to travel (San Francisco, Minnesota, northern WA coast, and Seattle), gain new experience, new images, new inspiration and new friends.... it is just magical.

LOVE LOVE LOVE what we do ~
thank you to all of our couples of 2009 ~
looking forward to all that will be in 2010 ~

:-)

Here are a handful of images we adore from our 2009 weddings and engagements. Below them, is a gallery slide show of 500 of our most favorite! I tried HARD to narrow them down to less than that, but couldn't :-) Roam through them and enjoy! :-)
