Inspiration Post! Our 2010 Wedding Season's Cake Creations!

Now this post hits close to home... The stigma of wedding cakes being "just for show" and "non-yummy at all" is GONE! Cake-making is a visual AND culinary art!

Josh and I have a policy of not eating cake at our weddings - can you imagine eating three large slices each, in the span of one summer weekend, every single weekend of every summer month?? - Sugar Overload! :)

On the other hand, if we are offered a slice and if it looks at delicious and inviting as any of these ones below... we will gladly accept!

Below if a collection of the beautiful cakes we had the pleasure of seeing during this past 2010 wedding season. Just like the flower inspiration post before this one, we are excited to share with you a list of our favorite cake makers in the Portland / Hood River area. Ones we have worked with and love and feel 100% confident to pass along.

On a side note, our brides Lacey and then again Karen, had two cakes. A regular three-teered one to share with the guests as well as a custom made Oregon inspired one. When you scroll through the images in the slide show, you'll see them! Lacey had a beautiful State Of Oregon shaped cake and Karen had a Mt Hood shaped cake. Love them!

Again, we hope this post serves you as inspiration and happy planning! :)

Inspiration Post! Our 2010 Wedding Season's Flower Arrangements!

They are all so photogenic!

And one of our favorite wedding aspects to photograph.
The colors are always bright; the arrangements so creative.
And the reaction in people's faces when they first see their bouquets at the wedding... priceless!

We did the same Inspiration Post at the end of last year, showcasing all of the bouquets and floral arrangements of the 2009 season.

Here is a slideshow of our 2010 wedding season!

I have included three static images below, but do scroll down to the embedded slide show.
There are around 150 images to look through!

Click on the 1st image in the slide show and then just keep clicking on each large image to move forward. You can return to the thumbnail view by clicking the thumbnail button on the bottom right of them show.

We hope this post will serve as inspiration to our future brides!
Happy planning! :)

"Swamp The Dress" session in the swamps on Louisiana!

That's right!

Only open to 10 people, as per airboat capacity.
I was lucky enough to be one of those 10.

What an amazing experience! Surrounded by the beauty that is the swampy area of louisiana, just outside of New Orleans. Also surrounded by amazing photographers who took on the bride by storm! :)

The model (bride) is our friend and fellow photographer from Atlanta, Shari Zellers.
She married the love of her life last month and volunteered to "Trash The Dress" ("Swamp The Dress" - as all of us are calling it) for the entertainment of all of us. We had such a great time!

The other amazing photographers who were involved were all friends of ours, part of our amazing Pictage family. Some of us had never met in person before, though we had been talking and collaborating online for many years.

Photography conferences like PartnerCon are amazing opportunities to get to know other fellow photographers in person and to shoot alongside them and to participate in talks to better our businesses and approach to our work. There is always something to learn and there are so many people who inspire us to be better and to grow as a business entity.

This past week spent in New Orleans was a week to remember. Every year, it happens, and every year, Josh and I will be attending. We can't wait for PartnerCon 2011!! :)

THANK YOU Chris Williams, Chris Pike, Shari Zellers, Monty Jessop, Jessica Del Vecchio, Alex Abercrombie, Kelly Segre and Mike (our airboat captain, who was willing to do anything possible for us so we may have the perfect locations and light for photographing Shari!).

The Portland Perfect Wedding Guide wedding show was a huge success!

Portland Perfect Wedding Guide and The Heathman Hotel make such a great team!
Our friends at Event Team Entertainment provided the music and the MC-ing for the entire show.

Thank you so much for all of the beautiful and wonderful brides who came by our table to chit chat with us about they wedding day's photography!

We are looking forward to meeting more privately with you... can't wait!

Together with us of MoscaPhoto, there were so many other wonderful vendors showcasing their art and talents.

I was asked by the Guide to take photos of the show and of the bridal gown fashion show put together for brides to see.

If the wedding show hadn't been as busy as it was, I would have been able to take so many more photos! Its a great thing, though, that I was constantly called back to my table to talk to brides... we LOVE our job!

:)

Here are a handful of some of the vendors at the show.
Thank you to ALL who put the whole experience together and for letting me take photos :)

Cupcake Jones. YUM!

{Engagement!} Inside the Rose Garden shoot with Rachael & Matthew!

This is SO exciting!

Rachael and Matthew got engaged during a Trailblazrs' game, jumbotron and everything!

So it was only obvious to us to see if we could coordinate permission to get inside the Rose Garden, privately, to shoot their engagement session :)

Well, that's exactly what happened last night. We met up at the loading zone of the Rose Garden and were then invited in by their awesome season ticket guy, Joe.

We had two hours to walk around from the court to the seats at the very top. It was amazing!

We are not allowed to post all of the images here, unfortunately, so here is one Sneak Peek for now, while I work of editing a few more to show. We can't have any NBA logos showing, nor any advertisement banners, so there's quite a bit of editing work ahead of us :)

More to come!

{Engagement} Washington Park Rose Garden roses and light rain engagement session!

Patricia and Tim are sweethearts!

They will not be getting married here in Portland, but they did get engaged here, and at the Rose Garden to boot!

What better place to take their engagement photos but in the very place where their wedding story officially began? They'll have so many colorful and memorable images to take back with them to their family and friends in the Midwest!

The day was lovely! A light rain, umbrellas, blooming roses and some autumn leaves too...

Yay for Oregon fall weather! :)
